Green Charter

The Earth is the Lord’s

Today (Saturday 14 January) is a beautiful new day. The sun is shining on a bright frosty world and the birdfrosty woods are flocking to the feeders in the garden.

It is the beginning of a new year – a new year of promise and I ask myself “What on earth are you doing for God’s sake to care for this fragile earth?”

Do you ask yourself the same question? If so then let’s all be determined to do something to make a difference for the better this year.

Perhaps we already feel we are doing something, just as the other day I rejoiced to see one or two people in Fladbury have put up new solar panels. May be we could do more....

  • have more suitable plants in our gardens for bees and butterflies
  • install a larger and/or second water butt
  • build a pond
  • use the bus more often into town
  • Join a wildlife group
  • count the birds visiting our gardens.

Now is the time to be resolute and get going and do it for God’s sake.....
